Rmax was founded in 1978 as a manufacturer of commercial, agricultural and residential insulation products. The Company's goal was to become the construction industry's standard-bearer for innovative rigid foam insulated building materials, unequaled quality and customer service. Rmax began production in its Dallas plant in the fall of 1978, with new plants commencing production in Greer, South Carolina and Fernley, Nevada, in 1979 and 1981, respectively.

Rmax quickly achieved its goal and was the first manufacturer to offer from each of its plants a full line of commercial, agricultural and residential insulated products, all of which had a Class I foam core. Despite the changes in the building industry since the firm's inception, the Company's innovative and superior products and method of sales has netted the Company national market leadership in commercial roofing materials and a strong market position in residential sheathing. With its expansion of manufacturing capabilities and new products, Rmax has expanded its national leadership role in the industry.
