R-Matte Plus-3 is a rigid foam plastic thermal insulation board composed of environmentally sound, closed cell, polyisocyanurate foam bonded to a durable white-matte (non-glare) aluminum facer and a reflective reinforced aluminum facer. This product is suitable for use in wall sheathing applications in new residential, commercial and agricultural buildings and for thermal retrofit construction to existing buildings.
R-Matte Plus-3 is ideal for use in both frame and masonry construction. R-Matte Plus-3 is available in ½", 5/8" and ¾" thicknesses, as well as, several different lengths.
R-Matte Plus-3 is applied to the exterior or interior face of wood or metal studs to cover all studs, sills, plates and header constructions, thereby providing insulation over areas not normally covered by insulation products. You can apply R-Matte Plus-3 to either the exterior or interior face of concrete or concrete masonry walls to provide an insulation layer over the entire surface.
This product is designed to be covered with siding materials of wood, wood-based products, cement based sidings, aluminum, vinyl, brick, or stucco veneers. The white-matte (non-glare) side of this sheathing panel is installed facing to the outside of the wall structure when the exterior siding will be wood, wood-based products, cement based sidings, aluminum or vinyl sidings. The reflective aluminum side of the sheathing panel is installed to the outside of the wall structure when the exterior finish will be either brick or stucco. R-Matte Plus-3 can also be installed on the inside surface of walls when properly covered by an approved thermal barrier. R-Matte Plus-3 is Energy Star approved.
